TEDx Nashville – Insights and Recap

Posted by John Yates

Posted in Inspiration

I guest-posted today for Jeff Goins about my experience at TEDx Nashville 2011 in the post I also offered keys to speaking at your next local TEDx talk. If you are coming to my site from that post welcome!

If you are unfamiliar with TED the best introduction is just to watch some of the talks. Thousands of the short (each presenter is allotted 18 minutes) talks are available for free online via iTunes and YouTube.

The central theme behind TED is “ideas worth sharing.”

This concept of sharing great ideas is something that I very strongly connect with in my own life.  I have realized that I am only as good as the people I surround myself with.

Not only should we share great ideas with each other, we must encourage and assist our fellow creatives to take action on these ideas.

Real change occurs after we come down from the “mountain-top high” of inspirational events or moments.  These types of highs are not sustainable (although how cool would it be to have an event like TED every day?)  In order to grow we have to to take action.

What steps do you need to take to put your “Ideas Worth Sharing” into action?

You can read more about me here.  Also feel free to subscribe to receive updates on my site and the various projects I am involved in.
